What a wonderful day that was

Here at Best Dressed Events, we were recently approached by a wonderful venue in Guildford, Surrey, who were hosting a wedding breakfast for a lovely, local couple. The venue was the Guildford Masonic Centre, which overlooks the River Wey at a bend in the river. Across the water from the Masonic Centre is a field that was full of cows at the time, creating an idyllic setting.

We were asked to decorated the venue and made it look special. As it was our first visit to this centre, we pulled out all the stops. We matched the paper serviettes provided by the venue with our chair sashes (we have so many we can even make a rainbow if you would like one).

We provided our beautiful white lace wigwam complete with colouring books and pencils to help mums when little ones get a bit fractious. Beautiful candlesticks with long elegant candles at either end of the top table lit the way for the Bride and Groom to join their friends for the meal, while our big LOVE letters flooded the dance floor with lights.

We placed a red carpet with a “Welcome to our Wedding” sign and two magnificent lanterns filled with three large candles welcomed the Bride and her guests at the main door. They then entered the lift, dropped one floor, and were greeted by the centre staff with the first glass of fizz at the start of the party. Silk standard rose bushes lined the way from the lift to the main hall in the Masonic centre.
